Used by the Qualifying school in October, this is the third course in the so called Golden Triangle. Golf World's panel promoted this from 52 to 35 suggesting it is increasing in popularity. It winds it's way through olive groves and the classic cork oaks of this area with lots of white sand bunkers and water adding to the aesthetic appeal. A bit kinder than some other nearby courses on the high handicapper you will still have to play well to score well especially if the wind blows. Once again the practice facilities make it worth getting there early and the terrace makes a wonderful place to have a hard earned cold beer afterwards.

San Roque's second course, designed by Pete Dye with input from Seve Ballesteros, should be very good but we haven't played it yet. So if you do please let us know what you think.

Please note reservations at the Old Course are subject to availability from 1100 hours onwards.
Alcaidesa is approximately 10 minutes drive from Sotogrande on the way to Algeciras and Gibraltar. This is perhaps our favourite course in the area simply because of the views. Spain's only 18 hole links course complete with heather and gorse it offers wonderful views of the Mediterranean, the Rock of Gibraltar and often the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. Designed by Peter Allis and Clive Clark, it has been modified to make it suitable for players of all handicaps. Buggy recommended.
