The Straits of Gibraltar and surrounding area have proved to be an excellent place to go dolphin and whale watching. If you have ever seen dolphins bow-riding alongside a boat you won't need convincing to go again, if you haven't then it is the most magical experience for the adults as well as children.
The Gibraltar based operators mainly seem to see dolphins but occasionally see pilot whales (footage was shown on The Blue Planet that was filmed here).
The operator out of Tarifa also see various species of whale including Orca but not on every trip. There are several different operators out of Gibraltar which all advertise locally. It may be necessary to book at busy times e.g. half term weeks so we've provided the contact numbers. We haven't had the chance to try any of them ourselves so any feedback would be very useful.
